Superfly: By Max Henry

Walt Frazier is a mod style dresser - at least that's what the stats say in this vintage Topps Trading Card circa 1973. Notice the punchy color and super-fly graphics with the team logo designed in an ascending gradation of font sizes. The period from the late 60's-to the mid-70s was the heyday for the wacky visuals Topps issued in both Baseball and Basketball editions. Some might say its gaudy, but if you look at today's trading cards, their sophistication has a slick commercial surface while the graphic design from the old cut (literally) and paste (literally) days is still fresh and fun - remember these were designed for youths 6 to 16, the primary age for card collecting. This card is minty fresh and its mine! Of course for the right bid it can be yours, perhaps one of you turbo-teen punks will get an allowance increase and buy this valuable piece of Americana.
