The story...

For more than eighteen years, Maynard Wellsby, better known as the Rat Hunter of New York has protected the good citizens of New York City from underneath the streets of Manhattan. HIs techniques, tried and true, his instincts, cat-like, his honor, unquestionable, this unsung hero deserves praise as he exists far below the radar scope of society.

Born into a family of wild boar hunters, (the wild boar has been shown to share family lineage with the fiercest rats of nyc) in a small southwestern town in Texas, Maynard came from modest humble beginnings. Son to a local brewer and an English Lord, Maynard grew up in a richly varied environment comprised of English Royalty and local drunks and liars. His early experiences as a young boy honed his love for the hunt, kinship with family and social service workers fostered a hybrid-functional family unit which later anchored his protective instincts and careful self-preservation tactics.

Maynard's father. Roland Krebs came from a long line of hunters. Reputedly, his father once grabbed him and shoved his face into a stinking dead boar rat carcass warning him, "Look at that thing, We were put on this earth to exterminate that..."

Son of a beer brewer, Maynard learned charm and manners from his mother. She left England, much to the surprise of the Royal Family after Roland saved her from a grisly death at the tusks of a deady javelina warthog. She renounced her inheritance to the Bass Ale fortune and later married Roland Krebs in Las Vegas at the Harmony Wedding Chapel and they gave birth to young Maynard 6 months later on the 4th of July.

So needless to say, having a strong upbringing in a hunting family, Maynard quickly gained the skills and personality commensurate with a salty experienced hunter of rats. Moving to New York at the age of 19 afforded Maynard the chance to further his education of culture, people, and vermin along the 9th avenue section of Hell's Kitchen, where he has resided for more than a decade.
