OUT OF SIGHT
I can*t believe I*m saying this but, OUT OF SIGHT finally gives
George Clooney the
opportunity to show us what he is made of and not
the dribble folks
can see every week on ER or the pathetic characters he
has had to play
in other feature films. I*m sure George would like to
forget BATMAN &
ROBIN forever, as well as scores of movie goers
would as well.
OUT OF SIGHT is a hot, sexy, funny film directed by
Steven Soderbergh
(SEX, LIES AND VIDEOTAPE) and adapted from
Elmore Leonard*s
crime tale. On his way from escaping from prison Jack
Foley (George Clooney)
runs into Federal marshal Karen Sisco (Jennifer
Lopez), who happens
to be close by, and is kidnaped by Buddy (Ving
Rhames) Jack*s buddy
and thrown into the trunk of the getaway car with
Jack. From
there they initiate a sexually charged but ill-fated relationship.
Just like
PULP FICTION and GET SHORTY this film takes us on an
unpredictable ride
that leaves us appalled but smiling none the less. Look
to enjoy a star
studded supporting cast that includes Albert Brooks and a
few surprise and
unbilled performances. This is a funny, intelligent film
thrown into the
wasteland of over budgeted and slick special
effects-ridden summer
releases....
But I haven*t seen
these films, so I could be wrong
